Children

Children are a vital part of Macedonia UMC and folks love seeing them in worship each Sunday, especially enjoying their delightful responses during the Children's Message.  Following the Children's Message, they are invited to go to Sunday School where a special lesson has been prepared to help them grow in their faith and learn about God. After the worship service ends, parents and grandparents pick up their children from the classroom. Other events are offered during the year for children and families such as:

Kids Kamp

Children are offered plenty of hands on experiences at our summer Kids Camp.  Various exciting themed camps are planned offering hands-on fun for children five years through 5th grade. Children are pictured at one of our prior year Cooking Camp rolling out dough to make their own pizzas for lunch. Check the link above for this year's dates and times.

 Trunk 'R Treat

Each year on the evening of October 31, folks from Macedonia UMC arrive on the grounds to open their decorated trunks and tailgates as they provide games and candy to families from the community. This safe alternative to traditional trick 'r treating also includes a variety of games, a cake walk, smoked sausage on a bun, popcorn and other fun activities.

Blessing of the Backpacks

On the Sunday before the first day of school, students are invited to bring their backpacks to worship. during the service the children bring their backpacks forward and prayers are said seeking God's blessings for the children and all school personnel for a successful new year. The students are also given a token of this blessing to place on their backpacks as a reminder of God's presence with them throughout the year.

 A Visit from Santa

Parents and grandparents love seeing their children light up as Santa arrives during December bringing gifts for all and words of wisdom about the importance of good behavior, not just at Christmas but all year long. Santa holds them captive as he playfully jokes with them about his reindeer and elves but most of all, tells them of the importance of celebrating Jesus' birth at Christmas.
